LECTURES
Lecture 1: Module Briefing / Research
03.04.19 (Week 1)
We had our briefing for this week on what we have to do for this module. We also had a short lecture about research and we had to do proposal for the research.
Lecture 2: Problem Statement / Research Question / Research Objectives
10.04.19 (Week 2)
We were taught about how to write problem statement, research question, research objectives on our chosen topics.
Lecture 3: Developing Your Research Question
17.04.19 (Week 3)
We learned how to develop our research questions by defining investigation, setting boundaries, providing direction. But before doing this, we must chose our topic first, it can be our passion, experience, and so on. It also brought benefit if it related to our specialization.
Lecture 4: What is a Critical Review?
24.04.19 (Week 4)
This week, we had a lecture about critical review and how to write it.
Lecture 5: -
01.05.19 (Week 5)
No class today due to Public Holiday.
Lecture 6: Research Strategy (Quantitative & Qualitative Research)
08.05.19 (Week 6)
Lecture 7: -
15.05.19 (Week 7)
No lecture for this week.
Lecture 8: -
22.05.19 (Week 8)
No lecture for this week but we needed to choose 2 methods for research implementation and make slides.
Lecture 9: -
29.05.19 (Week 9)
No lecture for this week but we had our consultation for our methods.
Lecture 10: -
05.06.19 (Week 10)
No lecture this week due to public holiday.
Lecture 11: -
12.06.19 (Week 11)

26.06.19 (Week 13)
We were briefed about final presentation.
Lecture 14: -
03.07.19 (Week 14)
No lecture for this week but we had to present our slides on Friday.
INSTRUCTIONS
PROPOSAL
03.04.19 (Week 1)
We needed to decide our area of interest(topic) to know where we wanted to research on.
At first, I thought about why some characters can be popular and some not. I even thinking of doing a survey but then Ms. Jinchi said that instead of doing a survey, why I'm not just research about mascots, because some mascots like Hello Kitty were popular.

10.04.19 (Week 2)
After consulted with Dr. Hayati, I decided to change my topic from mascots into game characters design of female characters.

17.04.19 (Week 3)
After I got some feedback from Dr. Hayati, I changed my proposal again.

CRITICAL REVIEW

29.05.19 (Week 9)
After I showed it to Dr. Hayati, she suggested me to do interview rather than visual analysis. So after I think it, it's better to do interview because it's more related to my research questions.
And then I made a new draft.

12.06.19 (Week 10)
I finalised my questionnaire. And Dr. Hayati helped me with my struggling to find someone to interview with.
19.06.19 (Week 11)
Dr. Hayati helped me to find someone to interview again because I lost the data of it.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Lc0Bs3Rle6dezuveh-tevunDGv5Yb41rRVWYHHh9Egc/edit?usp=sharing

RESEARCH REPORT & PRESENTATION
For our presentation, I compile it all into one but I also simplified it so it's easy to understand and read by the audiences.
And this is the compilation from proposal, critical review, to research implementation with the data analysis.
FEEDBACK
PROPOSAL
General feedback: We should always search and read about the topic that we wanted to study which helps increasing our understandings.
Specific feedback: I still need to narrow it down even though many people already did this kind of research.
CRITICAL REVIEW
General feedback: Dr. Hayati advised us to skim through the abstract or introduction and conclusion so that we can know either the topic is related to our topic or not.
Specific feedback: Dr. Hayati said that to upload the weekly progression sheet and the drafts either my first draft (the mess draft) and the second draft (rewriting draft).
RESEARCH IMPLEMENTATION
29.05.19 (Week 09)
Specific feedback: Dr. Hayati told me that if I wanted to make a questionnaire, I needed to make sure that it helps me to get close to my objective. Besides that, she also told me to know what points of visual analytics I needed to know and alayse. She also suggested me to interview probably 3 character designers.
12.06.19 (Week 10)
Specific feedback: Dr. Hayati told me that maybe I could add more questions for the questionnaire but it depends on me.
28.06.19 (Week 13)
Dr. Hayati told me that I could include the different opinions from the people who I interviewed into the presentation and I also needed to put all of the tasks into one blog rather than into a separated one.
05.05.19 (Week 14)
Dr. Jinchi asked me if I learned to achieve my research objective from my questionnaire and my research, while Dr. Hayati said that I should practice more on presentation because I have monotone voice while I have a very interesting topic.

CRITICAL REVIEW
01.05.19 (Week 5)
I found some articles that are related to my topic. We were also to download them in case we needed to review it offline or the publishers took down the articles.
My first draft: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HUuOTAmj9ih-5R4F-HKyAFGWXDclATohIF_KWOIFSGs/edit?usp=sharing
08.05.19 (Week 6)
When I wanted to write my next critical review, I felt that the first draft is so messy and it's unorganised so I rewrite it again.
Second draft: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1auzRgPF47vG65TdqZmLA7IPrOY7EScSS84x9oCpXt6I/edit?usp=sharing
15.05.19 (Week 7)
We needed to submit it by this week.
Here's my final: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1d-kCVtQ_IFtrqFKfU5lK8REl-dn_-R6GLVjiHsVlRzc/edit?usp=sharing
RESEARCH IMPLEMENTATION
This week, I decided to choose what methods should I use and at first I chose to do questionnaire / survey by using google forms, and visual analysis.
22.05.19 (Week 8)
We wrote our chosen methods at google slides (sorry but I did on google docs) and posted it on times since it was public holiday.
29.05.19 (Week 9)
After I showed it to Dr. Hayati, she suggested me to do interview rather than visual analysis. So after I think it, it's better to do interview because it's more related to my research questions.

19.06.19 (Week 11)
Dr. Hayati helped me to find someone to interview again because I lost the data of it.
