PROJECT 1

Design Research Dissertation
28.08.19 - 04.09.19 (Week 01 - Week 02)

We were asked to look back at our final presentation from our research methodology and do another presentation to convince the panelists that our project can be carried out as final year project.


Research Implementation - Draft Dissertation
28.08.19 (Week 01)

From our findings and dissertation, we were told to write at least 7000 words dissertation

04.09.19 (Week 02)

We started to write our dissertation by constructing a skeleton. At first, I added the front cover and the table of contents.

11.09.19 (Week 03)

Then, I started to add introduction, problem statement, problem questions, and a little bit of research methods. I tried to write the abstract and acknowledgements as well.

18.09.19 (Week 04)

I putted in the literature section and I had a consultation with dr. Hayati.

25.09.19 (Week 05)

This week, I had consultation with dr. Hayati on my literature review. She commented on my mistakes and suggest improvements.

02.10.19 (Week 06)

We continued on our progression this week in finishing our dissertation.

09.10.19 (Week 07)

I had my consultation with dr. Hayati on my mistakes and the things that I needed to edit.

PROJECT 2

Complete Dissertation with Visual Design Publication
16.10.19 (Week 08)

This week, we showed dr. Hayati our mood boards then she commented on it how we should improve it.

23.10.19 (Week 09)

I consulted with dr. Hayati as I changed some ideas inside the mood boards and my page layout that I showed directly from InDesign.


30.10.19 (Week 10)

I continued with my design and consulted with dr. Hayati.

06.11.19 (Week 11)

I submitted my first design of draft dissertation. And I had some feedback from dr. Hayati.

FINAL PROJECT

Research for Publication
06.11.19 - 13.11.19 (Week 11 - Week 12)

During this week, we needed to choose three journals that are relevant to our research topic. I found three selected journals but then as I hadn't really understand of it, dr. Hayati told me what to do again.

20.11.19 (Week 13)

This week we needed to choose our final journal and write rationale on why we chose it.

27.11.19 (Week 14)

We submitted our journal during this week.




FEEDBACK

04.09.19 (Week 02)

Dr. Hayati said that I presented better the last time and we needed to do our skeleton, while Mr. Kannan said that I needed to find a solution on how to create an appealing character design that not too obscene without disrupting the persona and game concept to the audience. He also said that I needed to find a game, to compare it and he suggested to redesign undertakes. Meanwhile, Mr. Razif suggested me to make a comparison between the current character that I felt or thought it’s bad and come up with my own improved design based on the character persona.

11.09.19 (Week 03)

As for draft dissertation 1, Dr. Hayati told me what I needed to do and showed me the example from the senior’s works

18.09.19 (Week 04)

Still for draft dissertation 1, Dr. Hayati told me to remember what the panelists said, and I needed to describe my pilot study in the introduction. She also saw me an example from upperclassman’s work.

25.09.19 (Week 05)

For draft dissertation 1, Dr. Hayati commented on my draft 1 and wrote which part that I should fix, either it’s introduction, the section, and the grammar that I wrote.

02.10.19 - 09.10.19 (Week 06 - Week 07)

For draft dissertation 2, Dr. Hayati asked me if I had some parts that I confused, and then she gave me some advice about the section that I asked.

16.10.19 (Week 08)

As for mood boards, Dr. Hayati told me that the references that I used as didn’t really resemble the topic that I chose and I needed to change the typeface that I wanted to use.

23.10.19 (Week 09)

For mood boards and page layout, Dr. Hayati said that the layout that I did didn’t resemble the references that I chose (the third one) and maybe I could specify which typeface I used either for the title, body, and so on.

30.10.19 (Week 10)

For my page layout, Dr. Hayati said that I could use the same angle for other design so it’s consistent.

06.10.19 (Week 11)

As for the submitted page layout, Dr. Hayati said my page cover is good, she also commented on some pages which had same front title. She recommended that maybe I could use only one title instead of two since it’s the same words.

13.10.19 (Week 12)

For journal adaptation, Dr. Hayati told me I needed to understand the journal and choose one journal from those three.
