Lecture 1: History of Information Visualization
07.01.19 (Week 1)
We started by briefing a history of information visualization. We learned that we're living in a visual information culture where we respond more into visuals such as maps, posters, and so on.
Like from this example, we can see which words are catching our eyes the most and we can also know what the connection between one word to another word.
At the past, people used to draw which had important role at that time because they're come before words. And by using drawings or images, people can visualize the geography easily,
After that, we also learnt about using bar charts and line graphs, so its easily accessible to those who were not trained in the field, enabling a wider dissemination of his information.
Last, we learnt about a visual language, termed ISOTYPE, short for International System of Typographic Picture Education.

Lecture 2: Flip Topic 1 : Manuel Lima's 9 Directive Manifesto
09.01.19 (Week 1)
This week, we were asked to present Manuel Lima's 9 Directive Manifesto.
Lecture 3: Flip Topic 2: Saul Wurman's L.A.T.C.H.
14.01.19 (Week 2)
This week, we learnt and presented the L.A.T.C.H. which consisted of location, alphabet, timeline, category, and hierarchy.
Lecture 4: Flip Topic 3: Miller's Law Chunking
16.01.19 (Week 2)
This week, we learnt about Miller's Law Chunking which was taking chunks informations and grouping it into smaller informations.
Lecture 5: Flip Topic 4: Isometric Design
28.01.19 (Week 4)
This week, we were given 30 minutes to learn and present isometric design.

EXERCISES
Exercise 1: AE Basic
08.01.19 (Week 1)
We were told to do a 30 seconds infographic video. We were given 3 topics which were movies, animals, and cars. I chose to make the videos between 2 movies which were Wonder and The Judge. After that, I used Adobe Photoshop to edit it and layer it. Last, I animated it in Adobe After Effects.
After choosing it, I used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to make the poster.

Fig 1.1 An example of visualize information |
The purpose of using a visualizing information is:
- to reveal the intricacy of the world in uncomplicated terms which is more simple to comprehend.
- to add knowledge to the information by displaying through spatial, quantitative, and chronological relationships.
And then we also learnt about word cloud which was a visualization example without using images, the variation of size, color, and placement which helps to add meaning with just a glance.

08.01.19 - 14.01.19 (Week 1 - 2)
We were given exercises which was using buttons. We were told to categorise it based on sizes, colours, number of holes, and then we had to make an infographic poster based on the information that we had.

EXERCISE 3: Dynamic Number
15.01.19 (Week 2)
This week, we were told to use After Effects to make a dynamic data based on the data that we researched. Our group's topic was attendance, so I used class attendance that I got from the internet.
I used Photoshop first before moving to After Effects.

14.01.19 - 29.01.19 (Week 2 - Week 4)
This week, we were told to make a 30 seconds (minimum) silent video of Pokemon which presenting each principles of L.A.T.C.H.
